Burj Khalifa in Dubai
Burj Khalifa is known as the jewel of Dubai and is one of the most important attractions of Dubai. The construction of this tower started in 2004 and its interior was finished five years later in 2009. This skyscraper was opened in 2010 as Downtown Dubai. The decision to build this building is based on the government's decision to diversify from the oil-based economy and gain Dubai's international reputation. The building was originally named Burj Dubai, but was renamed in honor of the ruler of Abu Dhabi and the president of the United Arab Emirates, Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Burj Khalifa with 160 floors and a total height of 829.8 meters is the tallest structure and building in the world, which has a total of 57 elevators and 8 escalators. This design is taken from the Islamic architecture of the region, such as the Samara Grand Mosque. The three-sided Y-shaped floor geometry is designed to optimize the residential and hotel space. The structure also has a cladding system designed to withstand the hot summer temperatures of Dubai. If you want to know more about this tower, be sure to read the Burj Khalifa article in Safarmarket tourism magazine.
